Benmore Botanic Garden

In a magnificent mountainside setting on the Cowal Peninsula lies Benmore, an enchanting Garden steeped in history and surrounded by dramatic scenery. Benmore’s 120 acres boast over 300 species of rhododendron; Bhutanese and Chilean plantings and a spectacular avenue of Giant Redwoods.

Puck's Glen

Puck's Glen is a magical place filled with gushing waterfalls and enchanting rock pools. This way-marked walk was originally created by the Younger brewing dynasty and is guaranteed to leave you 'merry.'

Loch Eck

Loch Eck is a fresh water loch about 7 miles long and set amidst the spectacular scenary of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It is flanked on the west by the magnificent Beinn Mohr, which at 741m is one of Cowals highest mountains. Loch Eck offers excellent walking, fishing and mountain biking of which, the walk to the summit of Beinn Mohr is the jewel in the crown.

Kilmun Arboretum

Nature lovers and dog walkers alike have been enjoying the quiet serene beauty of Kilmun Arboretum for decades. The Arboretum, situated on the hillside overlooking Holy Loch, just a mile from the caravan, contains over 180 acres of trees from all over the world. It was first planted in the 1930s to monitor the success of a variety of exotic tree species in the humid west coast environment and has been maintained by the Research Department of the Forestry Commission since 1948.

Cot House Hotel

Just 5 minutes walk from the caravan lies the Cot House, a traditional inn serving food and drink all day. There is a children's play area and beer garden, log fires and a conservatory.
